Northeastern students build app to help track seizures—and it’s personal

Muskaan “Mukki” Gill, E'26, knows how difficult it can be living with seizures. Her younger brother, Zor, has Dravet syndrome, a genetic disorder that causes random, frequent and prolonged seizures. Seeing how this affected her brother's life, the 2024 Innovator Awards recipient created ZOR!, an app that will help patients and caretakers track their seizures, along with the help of 16 of her Northeastern classmates. A beta version of the app is expected to launch on September 1, 2025.

Northeastern global community unites as record-setting Giving Day fuels student clubs, programs and innovation

Northeastern’s community rose up in unprecedented numbers Thursday for the university’s eighth annual Giving Day. The entrepreneurial festival generated $3.5 million from close to 14,000 donors—with both totals shattering records at Northeastern. One hundred percent of donations go to the faculty, teams, student organizations and academic programs associated with Giving Day—directly helping students and faculty pursue their ambitions.

During the month of March, Northeastern University’s Roux Institute brought two Women Who Empower events to life. Part of Northeastern’s Women Who Empower initiative, these events were moderated by Liz Kohler, managing director of strategy, operations, and growth at the Roux Institute, and Kippy Smith, founder of Small Wins Dashboard and Founder Residency alumna.
